Maika's New HumV

I have been downstairs sorting through baby clothes because we found out that we are having a BOY!!! I can't tell you how excited I am about it. We went to the obgyn on Monday and found out. The baby was lying on his stomach so we didn't get the greatest pictures and view of the gender. But, it was there...Kalena knew exactly what it was when Cliff asked the kids what they thought it was. So, since there is no gender picture, just the dvd with an arrow pointing to it. You will have to look at the profile.

Anyway, on with the real story. After being in the basement and starting to clean out the storage area, I had to make my way up to the garage to make a boxcar for Maika's drive-in movie at school. Without the help of Cliff this year, this is the extent of the car. He loves it! The license plate on the back had SRGNT and the front one said BADGUY. They always call military personnel "bad guys." He is even wearing his bike helmet just like you would wear a kevlar in the hummers.

Sunday Pictures

Once again, I tried to get Sunday pictures of the kids. We just went out to the front yard and snapped a couple. Didn't take too long before Leilani was done with it. So this is what I got.

How cute are the two kissing on her. Yep, she gets it all the time!

She is done and just wants her Monkey.

I can't believe how good they look...for at least 10 minutes! I think I will keep them!

My 1 Yr Old

Leilani, turned one on May 9. Cliff took the day off for the heck of it. It was nice for me because then I didn't have to run the kids to school and drag the boys to her one year check up. She is growing like a weed. She weighs 20.9 lbs and is 28 inches tall. She doesn't talk at all except for the words "Addy" and sometimes "Uh, oh." She does talk a lot of gibberish.

She is such a cute girl to have around. The boys and Kalena love to play with her and make her laugh. Leilani always tries to put things in her hair, wether it be a piece of paper, food or her fingers themselves. She loves to get a hold of paper and rip it up or just listen to the sound of it crinkle. Ever since she has started to crawl, church has gotten a little harder because she wants to wander until she gets to someone that pays attention to her and she freaks out. Then it is all over and just wants Mom or Dad.

She loves to see her dad come home. If he so much as walks by her without picking her up, she gets mad and begins to scream. Such a "Addy's" girl already. She just makes me smile...most of the time. Love her to pieces.

I didn't do anything fancy on her cake. In fact, she is lucky I even made a cake. She didn't even get to eat any though because she wasn't feeling so well and was put on antibiotics that morning for an ear infection. She is such a trooper and we love her to pieces.

Random Things

Just a short few random things that I have caught on camera with my phone.

1. Kalena's summer haircut again. Cliff finally talked her into cutting it again and she LOVES it! I also think she looks really cute with it cut this way. It saves me time not having to wash her hair anymore and she is becoming more independent having to do it.

We can't leave out the boys haircuts either. I got a picture of Lavea'i because he said he wanted a "Hohawk." We did buzz all three boys heads and it is WONDERFUL!

2. I have already been sitting outside a lot while the kids play. This is beginning to include Leilani, poor thing is callusing her knees and toes. But, I have gotten some cute pictures of them. It is amazing that in todays world we can't even let our own kids play in the front without a parent worrying someone might come and snatch them. How times have changed from when I was growing up and was able to roam for hours without my mom and dad really having to worry about someone coming to kidnap us. Anyway, so a lot of my days consist of sitting in a chair in the shade with a neighbor or playing games on my phone to keep me entertained...I should pick up some book reading time.

3. I remember posting a picture of Lavea'i falling asleep on our tile floor last summer from being so exhausted from playing in the little pool outside. He came in and fell asleep all wet on the kitchen floor. Well, the other day, I was getting ready to go and pick Kalena up. Leilani had been asleep for about 45 minutes. I was on my way to go and wake her up when I noticed Lavea'i had created his own bed and had just fallen asleep. Where could he be this time?
Yes, I was in the middle of doing laundry and he grabbed the basket and made his own little bed.

4. Last, but not least, Leilani. She has been weened from the bottle, cut cold turkey. She is fine without it, but her pacifier is another story. She loves it, but I am a little worried about how her lip might turn out from the way she likes to suck on it. Might as well shove the whole thing in her mouth.

What to do...Part 2

Here is the windy picture that I promised to find and get off of Cliff's phone. I absolutely LOVE their faces, THANK YOU WIND!!!

After the Double Arches, we headed to the North and South Arch. They have built a main trail and another trail that ventures off behind the arches for a lot longer hike. We figured, "What the heck" and took the off road trail. The kids had a blast and we saw a couple of lizards. I tried to catch one, but Cliff was getting impatient and told me to let it be. Anyway, we got some pretty decent pictures of the kids. And then a good family photo that I blew up to hang on our wall to replace the professional one that was taken 2 1/2 years ago.

Afterwards, we drove to the Sand Dune Arch. The weather was pretty cold by then, but if it hadn't been I am sure we would have stayed there for a very long time. Lavea'i would bury his hand in the sand and ask, "Mom, where did my hand go?" Of course I played along and replied, "I don't know, where did it go?" Then he would quickly pull it out and say, "Here it is." The kids were loving the sand to run, jump and dig in. I would have joined in as well if I weren't holding the camera and taking all of the pictures.

With the kids tired and Leilani knocked out in her car seat, the last stop was the Delicate Arch. The most popular arch of them all. Cliff took the kids on a short trail to look at it from a distance and, at least, get a picture. So, I stayed in the car with Leilani and ended up falling asleep until they got back. I guess I was just as worn out, because apparently I was out for at least 45 minutes. That ended the trip for this time

Kalena always trying to hide in the smallest places she can find.

The last picture I want to share is one that I took of just the view of how blue the sky was with the white clouds. I, of course, do not think my pictures ever do nature justice. I rarely take landscape pictures, but this is one that I think turned out more worthy to share.
We really enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to anyone with younger or older kids. It is a place that your kids can explore and get dirty. We LOVED it! The kids say they would rather go back to Moab than Disneyland if that lets you know how much fun they had.

The Last of the Baptisms: Tunoa

I am amazed at how beautiful this day turned out! Tunoa has not been excited to be baptized at all until he had his interview with the Bisho...
