With Springtime comes.....?

Birds and their nests....

This was last years nest. Each bird hatched and made their way out of the nest.

 This year, Cliff and I finally were going to take the Christmas lights down after having them up for 2 years straight, so I decided to unplug the extension cord and a couple of light came down just hanging there. Low and behold, this is what is there now...

 Now, because these birds are protected under federal law, we are not allowed to touch anything that has to do with them. We will have to call the wildlife professionals and have them come and take down the nest after the birds leave. Or, we could just keep the lights up for another year.

I am in awe of the hummingbirds nest and how less messy they are than the robins nest. They are tiny as well. What is awesome is to actually see the hummingbird rest instead of flapping their wings so quickly.
