5K Run

So, yesterday our sports representative for the stake in our church had a 5k run organized just for fun. I decided to run it in prep for the relay half marathon that my sisters and I are going to be doing next week. I would say I did pretty darn good for the first real race that I have ran. It was harder than I thought, but worth it. I didn't know there was going to be awards given for first place in the different age groups.

So, I ended up running the 3.1 miles in 27min. 8sec. It was nice because the race was sponsered by an outside company called Road ID and they gave $15 gift certificates to the first place winners for ID's when you run.

The guy who organized it gave us dates of more runs that are free or you can donate 1can of food. So, if you want to come and join me in them the dates are: May 9, June 6, July 4, Aug. 1, and Sept. 5. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. If you don't want to run you can bring your kids and walk-stroll-bike or whatever else you want. The location is 1775 N. 2600 W. in Lehi.
