HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY!!
I tell you, this girl wants EVERYTHING! And on top of that ALWAYS changes her mind in what she wants, but it always is the bling, bling and expensive things. I don't know where she got the expensive taste, but then Cliff's dad reminded me that it came from Cliff. He does too!!!
I can't believe she has gone from being my first baby in my arms to turning 7 years old.
She is definitely different than most little girls. She absolutely LOVES to color, draw and paint. I can and can't wait for the day I can get her an art kit that is a little more expensive then 5 bucks so that she can truly paint what she sees in her creative mind. For now, the smaller art kits will have to do.
She is such a WONDERFUL big sister! She once told me that life was so boring before Leilani was born because all she had was the boys, but then as we talked a bit more and it was pointed out that she always liked to play with her brothers, realization sunk in that life was never boring with them.
She cried when we found out that Lavea'i was going to be a boy, but quickly loved him and is so protective of him. I love that she gets along with them all.
Kalena grabs at any chance to go on a date with either myself or her dad. In fact, I was going out the other night before Cliff left the next morning for Texas. She saw me getting ready to leave and asked if she could go. Normally, I would say no, but that night was a night that memories were made with her. We went to a movie and she ate most of the popcorn and drank most of the Dr. Pepper. Half way into the movie she leans over, hugs my arm and says "Mom, this is the best date ever." Then off we went to the library to check out some chapter books for her (and one for myself). After the library, it was dinner time at the Olive Garden. During dinner, she was so excited to be there and kept talking with her mouth full of food. I would kindly remind her that we don't talk with food in our mouths. She shoveled it in and just kept going. The she said, "Mom, this is the best dinner ever." She ate every last bite, including the dessert. When we got home, I told Cliff the story and he let me in on that when she says those things, it translates to she is having a lot of fun.
Anyway, this is her at this point in life. We had an exciting fun filled day for her. She got a breakfast with eggs, pancakes, and sausage (requested IHop, but just made it all instead).
Then she wanted hotdogs for lunch and Tucanos for dinner. We gave her presents to her throughout the day so she could enjoy them all. She was so excited as she opened every gift.
Of course, the cake that was requested was a Barbie cake. The first time I have ever tried roses. Didn't turn out too bad. She also requested red & blue balloons. So many requests, I am afraid to see what those requests will turn into as she gets older.

100's Day
I totally missed getting a picture of Kalena's poster that we did and I had her throw it away. I stayed up doing it because I forgot about it until the night before it was supposed to be done. But, I drew a blue M&M with glittery, blue, go-go boots. Then I glued peanut M&M's to make the "M" (I had Cliff get the M&M's and I should have specified I needed the plain ones). But, it was really cute.
Maika was supposed to dress up like he was a 100 years old. I wasn't going to have him dress up, but he said he wanted to do it. I tell you, him going to school has really helped him come out of his shell. He is really growing up fast. FASTER.THEN.I.WANT!
He buttoned up his own shirt and was off one button. I was about to fix it and then realized, "if a man is 100, I bet he does it quite a bit." Then I had silver glitter spray from Halloween. It only made his hair sparkle, but then I added flour to his hair and it held the flour in better than normal. I had a pair of 3D Harry Potter glasses that they busted and so I taped some green twine to them and hung them around his neck. He looked too cute!
But, here he is....
What a GREAT looking 100 year old boy!
