Tunoa's Blessing

October 14...This Sunday was special for our little guy. Cliff gave him his baby blessing and the men that stood in the circle to help with that are ALL amazing men.

Some of you that read this may not be familiar with what a baby blessing is in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So a short explanation will be given. It happens shortly after the baby is born and is given usually by the father who holds the priesthood (the authority to act in Gods name). A group of priesthood holders, usually close friends or family members, are asked to stand in a circle and hold the baby while the blessing is given. The baby is given a name by which he/she will be known by and a blessing.

So our son was given his name that the he will be known by which is Tunoa Olaus Fano and the blessing was short and simple.

He was blessed:

1. That he would know he was loved by his family.
2. That he would understand his mother and love and respect his mother.
3. Along with number 2 was that he would know that his siblings are here to help him out.
4. That he would thirst after the truthfulness of the gospel.
5. AND that he would obtain as much knowledge to help him to prepare to receive the priesthood.

At home chilling in his blessing outfit. This is one that my mom had saved from when my brothers were blessed. The other boys were too big for it and fit him just perfectly. 

It was a fabulous day to just come home and reflect upon the good in the gospel of the church. I am thankful for the gospel and teaching us about our Savior and His atonement. It is amazing to know know that we can all return to live with our Heavenly Father if we just continue to keep the commandments and do what our Heavenly Father has asked. I am blessed to have 6 of our Heavenly Fathers children come into our home and be entrusted to take care of these precious children. It is definitely not the easiest task by any means and there are days of frustration and anger, but I love them dearly.
