Leilani's Baptism

Oh, how simple and beautiful the ordinance of baptism. Mother's Day is also a glorious day. But, to have Mother's Day and Leilani's baptism wrapped up in one beautiful Sunday was wonderful!

We all woke up and Cliff wanted to make me something for breakfast, but I didn't want any because I usually don't eat before church due to time my time management skills and trying to get things ready for primary music. So, we skipped breakfast. When I was done getting ready, I came down to get Leilani's hair done in braids so that after her baptism we wouldn't have to worry about it. Cliff got the only pictures of the day, me doing her hair. She loved her dress and enjoyed her day of being special.

Gotta love the photo bomber in the background. Love the cheesy smile, Tula'i.

Look at those squishy cheeks! I just want to pinch them ALL THE TIME!

Her program was simple...one talk by me about following the Savior and keeping our covenants that we make when we are baptized. Kalena lead the music, Maika gave the opening prayer, and her wonderful teacher from primary gave the closing prayer.
After all was done, we just came home. We gave her a set of her own scriptures and she loved them. She has grown so much, but still loves to mess around and play all the time...especially while we are reading scriptures. Leilani always acts like she is asleep and when we tell her to go to bed, she gets mad and starts to cry because she doesn't want to go to bed. She just would rather be playing around.

What a perfect Mother's Day gift! To have a child enter into the waters of baptism and make those covenants to always remember the Savior and our Heavenly Father, keep His commandments, and to take His name upon her. In other words, always act as if the Savior stood right next to her and be the person that He would have her be.

On the other side of Mother's Day, Cliff really tried hard to let me sleep and was going to make dinner. BUT, even Kalena begged me to come and make dinner  (meatloaf) so it wouldn't be screwed up. Cliff helped of course and did spoil me as much as he ALWAYS does. He is such a wonderful example to the children on how a wife/mother should be treated. I am not saying we don't have arguments and that marriage is perfect all of the time, but the good sure outweighs the bad! It is always a work in progress.

The Last of the Baptisms: Tunoa

I am amazed at how beautiful this day turned out! Tunoa has not been excited to be baptized at all until he had his interview with the Bisho...
