My fresh produce!
I planted a few other things in my garden this year, but these are the only things that would grow in our clay dirt. I am greatful to reap these at least, but they are growing almost too quickly to eat all of it. My mom is in town and so I thought I would give some to her to take home to Denver and also to my Aunt Janet.
As I was picking them, Kalena always likes to look and help. So, she got the wagon and loaded all of it up to pull to the back door.
She couldn't do it on her own so Maika came along like it was no problem at all and made it look easy. You can see by the look on his face.

Brand new Bike!!!!
So, Kalena finally got a bike that she has been begging for from Dad this morning. He decided to surprise her and get one. I have been asking the same thing for a while and I guess it has to come from the kids. Well, when she got on it, I didn't have the patience to teach her to pedal forward instead of always trying to go backward, which is the brakes and just stops her, so Cliff had to come and take over. I just think to myself "it is not that hard of a concept to grasp," but as a little child it is and I should be more patient. She made it around the block and then I took some pictures.

Hide and Play!!!!
Never knew that Tula'i was small enough to climb into a cupboard and start playing with the stuff inside. He began by playing with the rice cooker and then, just kept climbing. But, as soon as the camera was pulled out, of course his attention switched to it. He could totally close the cupboard door and I would have no clue he was in there if it was total silence.

Happy Birthdays!!
It has truly been another blessed year being able to live with my boys. They are fun to have in our home. Kalena wouldn't know what to do without them. The party was fun and we had a GREAT time! Thanks for the family who drove to come and eat, I mean celebrate with us. They got some cute clothes for the winter. But of cours, Auntie Traci won them both over with footballs. We had a mini-Olympics with a 3 legged race, bean bag toss and ballon popping competition. The games were easy and each child got a gold medal. Their cakes were the hardest part of the whole thing. But, they got eaten, so they must have been good. Enjoy the slide show, there are LOTS of pictures!

Happy Birthday, Maika!!!!
Cliff realized we hadn't taken any pictures today, so he decided to get them right before bed eating their popcicles.
Cliff told Maika to get close to Kalena and so he closed his eyes.
Kalena was the photographer here and after some bad ones....
she got a couple of good ones.
We didn't do anything for Maika today because the big birthday bash for both of the boys is tomorrow. Since Tula'i turns one next Wednesday, we decided they can share birthday parties until they are a little older and realize what is happening.
He is 2 years old as of 10:55 p.m. Maika is such a funny guy. He picks up many bad habbits from his sister. He is in the stage where he tries to tell everyone what to do. He is also finding out that he can tell us no, thinks he is going to get away with it, but then realizes that he won't. He loves to pick on Kalena. They both, of course, dish it out to each other, but I think most of it is Maika that starts it. I have had to watch him close lately. What a cutie, but big stinker too! He is shy of everyone he doesn't know. He used to cry, more like scream, if he saw his uncle Kimo, but now he gives him hugs and will hug him for a while before he lets go. You cannot force him to like you...he has to warm up on his own and usually that doesn't take to long. What a personality he has. I love him to pieces even when I am ticked off at him.

My little helper?
So, every time I step into the kitchen to make something to eat, Kalena has to help. Last night, Cliff was helping with dinner and she wanted to help cut up the lettuce. She sharpened her butterknife just like dad sharpened his knife and then she helped cut the lettuce with it. Here is a picture of it.
Kalena helping Daddy.
Hard at work...maybe even breaking a sweat with all the extra time it takes with the butterknife.

Camping with Dad, what a brave soul!
Cliff took the kids camping with him last week. He took a couple of days off of work and went up with them. I went up the next day for lunch and stayed up there for a couple of hours. Tula'i wasn't feeling too well, so that was why we didn't stay longer, plus my mom was in town. I ended up bringing Maika home with me because he was so tired and just nocked out in my arms up at the campsite after I got him cleaned up a little bit. But, Cliff said they all had fun and Kalena didn't even want to get into the tub when she got back. I will post some video of it when I get around to doing it. Here are some pictures though.
Nothing like a good campfire to sit in front of and watch.
Kids in the tent with their cousins and uncle.
The kids actually stopped to eat for a minute...and then back to play time it was.
Anyone want to donate money to this poor child?
Kalena just going about her business.

TTA: Olympic Spirit
I thought I would do the ones that I like...I think I would like to compete in basketbal or volleyball. Everyone that knows me well would know this from just my regular personal life. If I was any good at individual sports, I would like to compete in a bunch of others, but running....well, in come the slow twitch muscles. I love to swim, but not competitively. If I could make a sport up for the summer Olympics, it would be Mexican horseshoes. I think I would have to practice a little more, but I am getting decent at it.

It's a baby...???
Yes! We had the ultra sound on Wed. July 30 and found out what we were having. The ultra sound pictures show it and so does this video with Kalena and her reaction.
