August Birthday's

It is AMAZING how grown up kids become from year to year. For example, Maika, just turned 5 on August 14th. He just seems so much more independent and ready to head off to Kindergarten next week. It is CRAZY!!!! We went to go buy jeans for him and Kalena yesterday at Old Navy and he just looked so grown up and dang cute at the same time. I am worried about all the little girls having a crush on him because he is such a handsome little boy (if I do say so myself). I know that his Auntie Cajsa would agree with me on this point as well.

Maika is such a wonderful, big brother. He is the one that listens to me unless he is tired...then he throws a tantrum because he doesn't want to do absolutely anything. He is such a shy kid if he doesn't know you, but once he warms up he will melt your heart. He LOVES to hang out with his dad and Tula'i! I don't know what Tula'i will do without him this year. Lately he bribes his brothers and sister with treats that he gets from church. He is just like his dad when it come to saving money. He will save his money for something that he really wants instead of spending it on other little things along the way.

He is so excited to head off to school. Cliff had to take them to "Back to School Night" and said he was way excited until they went to say hello to the teacher and then he backed up into his shell and wouldn't say anything.

Anyway, for his birthday this is what he got from us:

a Captain America cake...

A Captain America shield...

and a Superman cape custom made for him.

Along with all of this, he got a Spiderman backpack with glue, scissors, paper, colored pencils, crayons and all that good stuff from Grandma Bandmann. He loved it all and still enjoys it. AS SOON AS Tula'i saw the Captain America shield, his request for his birthday cake changed from Superman to Captain America because he thought that with the cake came the shield. I wanted to get him something else, so I finally talked him into the Thor hammer and cake.

Because I was going to be gone on his birthday, we celebrated early and here are his gifts:

Tula'i is such a stocky boy, but so lovable and cuddly. He will never go to bed without giving me a hug when I tuck him in at night. He loves to play with Maika, not so much Lavea'i unless it is just the 2 of them around. He tries to always take things away from Lavea'i that aren't his to play with. He absolutely LOVES to eat fruit! He will sit and eat a whole cantalope or pineapple by himself. He also loves to eat treats...cookies, candy, etc. I guess you could say he has a sweet tooth. I love when he takes a nap because he will sleep for at least 3 hours. His favorite color is orange and will fight to have the orange plate or bowl whenever he eats something. He enjoys watching movies. I love the way he chews his food because he has an underbite and it is just the cutest thing to watch. I can't believe in another year he will be headed off to school just like his brother.

The years have gone by so quickly and I have enjoyed the majority of it! I wouldn't trade my boys for anything in the world. They are definitely keepers especially with these cute faces:

Happy Birthday boys! My twins at heart!

The Last of the Baptisms: Tunoa

I am amazed at how beautiful this day turned out! Tunoa has not been excited to be baptized at all until he had his interview with the Bisho...
