Cliff's brother, Jethro, purchased season tickets for the BYU Cougars football. Jethro offered the tickets to a game for Cliff to use. The mother that I am, I figured since the boys got to go to a baseball game with Cliff, it was now Kalena's turn to spend the day out with Dad. She was so overly excited to go on a DATE! When Cliff suggested the game, she said she didn't want to go, but then when we told her we would get her a shirt to wear for the game she quickly became happy to go again.
I painted a Y and paw print on her face. She ate that up. The boys and I dropped them off at the game while we went and grabbed lunch and did a little bit of shopping. Cliff and Kalena had hot dogs and some lemonade. Cliff said as soon as she was done eating her hot dog, she just wanted him to hold her in his lap and was ready to get out of there.
Cliff did say that she kept asking questions about what was going on at the game...such as the cheering and she asked if the cougar mascot was real. Cliff said she was kind of nervous that a cougar was there, so he had to explain to her that it was a human wearing the costume. After that explanation, she relaxed.
Cliff texted me within an 1 hour to come and pick them up. He said that it wasn't the date she was expecting. She just wanted to go out with her dad and talk to him. So, we proceeded home after a little bit more shopping for groceries and they headed out to Chili's for dessert. He said she just talked his ear off. What a girl we have, but such a sweet one. She does love her dad and cherishes the time she gets to spend with him. Needless to say, after Chili's and a little bit of time at Best Buy playing the kinect, she was fully satisfied with her Daddy day out.
